The Ruoppolo Manor Supportive Housing Program is a collaboration of ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc., the Housing Authority of New Haven, and Continuum of Care, Inc. Ruoppolo is a Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS)-funded PILOTS program that enables community agencies to collaborate in offering services to at-risk populations.
The Ruoppolo Program serves 23 individuals who are formerly homeless or at risk of being homeless and who have either a dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse, or a history of substance abuse with at least a year in treatment. In order to be accepted into the program, clients must apply for public housing and be admitted through the Ruoppolo waiting list.

Clients are assigned case managers upon entering the program. Case managers meet with clients weekly to provide assistance in activities of daily living, money management, medical transportation, entitlements, housing issues, therapeutic recreational groups, and activities, and individualized clinical treatment planning. The daily structure includes participation in meditation groups, dual diagnosis groups, behavioral management, substance abuse prevention, and 12-step meetings.
