Eastview Terrace is a family development located on the eastern edge of New Haven. As part of the Housing Authority's Moving To Work Plan, $13 million dollars will be invested in Eastview to rebuild the neighborhood. The number of housing units will decrease from 142 to abour 112, and these structures will be thoroughly renovated. The street pattern of the development will change from the current semi-circle driveway to more pedestrian friendly cul-de-sacs. Additionally, two pedestrian footbridges will be built over the brook that currently divides the development.
The centerpiece of the redevelopment will be a new community center, which will feature indoor basketball courts, a library, a computer learning center, daycare, and a convenience store that will be operated by residents with the support of HANH.
