Brookside and Rockview were built on the former Springside Farm after World War II to house veterans and other moderate income residents.  They are located on a sprawling site near West Rock Ridge State Park.

Because of its failing physical condition, HANH vacated Rockview Circle and applied for and recieved a HOPE VI demolition grant to tear down the site. HANH is also developing plans to demolish badly-deteriorated units in Brookside as part of a comprehensive West Rock Master Plan.
